STUDENT LIFE

Houses

A system that builds teamwork, belonging and school spirit from the earliest years.

OVERVIEW

School Houses

Students are allocated to one of four School Houses and once allocated will stay in that House throughout their time at KH8 Primary. Each house has a nominated staff House Leader. The Primary School has four student House Captains. The House system is an integral part of life at KH8 and provides opportunities for students to participate in friendly competition, collect rewards for positive contributions, develop group identity and a sense of belonging, and lead and mentor younger students where appropriate.

Students may be awarded house points by members of staff for a variety of reasons: polite and well-mannered behaviour, demonstrating a caring attitude towards peers, working to the best of their ability, putting special effort into a piece of work, positive attitudes towards work, and being helpful.
