STUDENT LIFE
House System
Encouraging belonging, leadership and healthy competition across the Senior School.
WHAT THE HOUSE SYSTEM DEVELOPS
Community, Competition and Character
Collective Identity
The house system effectively bridges the gap between different year groups, bringing students together as a cohesive team. This unique structure promotes an environment where students from various ages can interact, learn from one another, and provide mutual support. Younger students benefit from the guidance and mentorship of their older peers, while older students develop leadership skills and a sense of responsibility.
Healthy Competition
The house system encourages healthy competition in a supportive and inclusive manner. Through a range of inter-house competitions and activities, students have the opportunity to showcase their skills, talents, and sportsmanship. Whether academic challenges, sporting events, or creative endeavours, the house system instils a sense of pride and fosters friendly rivalries that fuel a positive and energetic atmosphere throughout the school.
Character Development
Within each house, students find a supportive network of peers and dedicated staff members — including housemasters and tutors — who serve as mentors and advocates. These individuals provide guidance, encouragement, and a safe space for students to seek advice or share their concerns, fostering their overall wellbeing and personal development.
Cohesive School Spirit
Through house-related events, celebrations, and charitable initiatives, students proudly represent their houses — strengthening their collective bond and school spirit. This sense of belonging contributes to a positive and inclusive environment, where students feel valued, supported, and motivated to actively contribute to the school community.
